Triumph used the letter T as the pre-fix for transmission parts until they computerised their system around 1973.
The T then became the number 57- and shorter suffixes were converted to 4 digits by adding leading zeroes.
Therefore, a part designated T23 becomes 57-0023 and a T1607 becomes a 57-1607
The parts referred to under either system are generally interchangeable
